The GEO-Zentrum an der KTB is a research and exhibition center located in Windischeschenbach, Bavaria, Germany. It is based on the Continental Deep Drilling Programme of the Federal Republic of Germany, which drilled two boreholes, a pilot hole and a main hole, to a depth of 9,101 meters. The center features an 83-meter-high drilling rig, drilling equipment, and a collection of drilling samples. The exhibition includes interactive stations, a mineral collection, and information on geoscientific topics such as plate tectonics, earthquakes, and geothermal energy. Visitors can explore the drilling rig and learn about the history of the drilling project, as well as geoscientific research and its applications

Activities: We visited the GEO-Zentrum, which included the Geo-Labor and Geo-Werkstatt. We learned about the deep hole in the earth and the reasons it was bored. We saw an Erdbebensimulator, and exhibits on Earth's history, earthquakes, and volcanism. "Highlight for Kids is ganz sicher der Erdbebensimulator"
Highlights: The kids loved the Erdbebensimulator and the mineral collection. We were interested in the exhibitions ✨
