What to expect
The Starzlachklamm gorge near Sonthofen in the Allgäu is a natural monument and a recognized geotope of great scientific importance. Visitors can find fossils, including nummulites, foraminifera, sponges, and rare remains of other marine animals, which provide a unique insight into the geological history of the region. While canyoning, visitors can discover fossils and follow in the footsteps of marine creatures that populated the present-day Alpine region around 30 million years ago
