Hohenschwangau Castle is a 19th-century palace located in the German village of Hohenschwangau near the town of Füssen, in southwestern Bavaria, Germany. The castle was built by King Maximilian II of Bavaria and was the childhood residence of his son, King Ludwig II of Bavaria. It features a romantic summer and hunting castle with a neogothic style exterior design and over 90 wall paintings representing the history of Schwangau and medieval German romances. The castle is an extraordinary architectural monument from the Romantic era and offers guided tours. However, it has some limitations, such as no elevator and no photography allowed inside. Dogs and pets are also not permitted
