Gaisalpbach is a tributary of the Iller River in the municipality of Oberstdorf, Bavaria, Germany. The stream feeds the lower Gaisalp Lake, which is nestled in a natural cirque basin and surrounded by craggy rocks, dwarf pines, and lush alpine meadows. The lake is a popular destination for hikers, who can reach it via a trail that begins in the Reichenbach district of Oberstdorf and climbs through the wild and narrow Gaisalptobel gorge. The trail offers breathtaking views and passes by waterfalls and the rustic Gaisalpe hut. The Gaisalp lakes are classic cirque lakes, formed when Ice Age glaciers carved deep hollows into the bedrock. The area is also home to the Gaisalpbach waterfall, which is a highlight of the hike
