What to expect
Laber is a mountain in the Ammergau Alps, offering a panoramic view of the foothills of the Alps, with many lakes and a view of Munich on a clear day. The Ester Mountains, Wetterstein Mountains, and Ammergau Alps form an impressive mountain arena. Visitors can enjoy a ride on the nostalgic Laber mountain railway, which takes them up to the round Laberkuppe at an altitude of 1684 meters. The mountain restaurant at the top serves delicious meals and offers a great view. For hikers, there are various trails, including a demanding hike to the Ettaler Mandl, which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. In winter, Laber is a demanding ski area, particularly appreciated by freeriders
