The Felsengänge are a vast network of tunnels and cellars beneath the old town of Nuremberg. The system was initially built for the fermentation and storage of beer, with the first recorded mention in 1380. Over time, the tunnels expanded to include up to four stories and covered an area of 25,000 square meters. The tunnels feature a system of ventilation shafts and 'Kühldome' that were used to cool the beer. Today, the tunnels maintain a constant temperature of 8-12°C, making them an interesting place to explore. The Felsengänge also include the Kasematten, a network of tunnels in the defensive structures of the Nuremberg Kaiserburg. With its rich history and unique architecture, the Felsengänge are a fascinating place to visit
