Wildpark Mehlmeisel

Zoo Mehlmeisel, Bavaria, Germany

What to expect

The Wildpark Mehlmeisel is a wildlife park located in the heart of the Fichtelgebirge, offering a unique perspective on native wildlife. Visitors can walk on a raised boardwalk three meters above ground, directly over the enclosures of lynxes, wild boars, and other animals, and get up close and personal with them. The park features spacious, natural enclosures instead of cages, and a 1.2-kilometer circular path with an elevated boardwalk. The variety of species is impressive, including large game animals, forest dwellers, and smaller animals like foxes, beavers, and squirrels. There is also a petting zoo with friendly animals for young visitors. The park is barrier-free and accessible for wheelchairs, with designated paths and exhibits that are easily accessible for visitors with mobility impairments. Assistance dogs are allowed, and the exhibits are available for touching, smelling, and hearing
