Burgruine Weißenstein is a ruined rock castle located in the Steinwald Nature Park in Bavaria, Germany. According to legend, the castle is said to be haunted by an unidentified female ghost, and there is also a treasure supposedly buried on the property. The hike to the castle is considered moderately challenging and takes around 2-2.5 hours to complete. The trail is well-marked and well-maintained, making it a great destination for families and nature lovers

Activities: We went on a short round trip through a forest to the ruins. We climbed up the tower for a view of the Steinwald and Fichtelgebirge. We stopped at the Marktredwitzer Haus for a meal afterwards

Highlights: The views from the tower were fantastic. "Felsen and walls go almost imperceptibly into each other". The kids loved exploring the ruins ✨
