The Sylvenstein Dam, also known as Sylvensteinspeicher or Sylvensteinsee, is a reservoir located in the Isarwinkel region of Bavaria, Germany. It was built between 1954 and 1959 to provide flood protection and ensure a constant water level in the Isar River. The dam has a maximum storage capacity of 124.3 million cubic meters of water and is equipped with two small hydroelectric power plants. The reservoir is approximately 7 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide, with a water surface area of 3.92 square kilometers. The surrounding area is a popular destination for outdoor activities and offers scenic views of the Alpine landscape. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque scenery and take part in various recreational activities.
