Hartsee is a beautiful natural area in Bavaria, Germany, surrounded by 17 idyllic lakes and characterized by a rare dead ice landscape. Visitors can explore the unique natural and historical moorland landscape on 28 kilometers of paths, and enjoy refreshment at designated bathing areas in the summer. The Hartsee is also a great spot for hiking, birding, and running, with a 3.5-mile loop trail that takes about 1.5-2 hours to complete. Activities: We went on a family hike around Hartsee. We walked along the lake, enjoyed the views, and had breaks. “At the north end of the Hartsee, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Chiemgau Alps.”
