The Berchtesgaden Salt Mine is a unique attraction that offers a fascinating underground experience. Visitors can take a miners' train 650 meters into the mountain, where they can explore a gigantic salt cathedral, see 3D animations depicting the mining of salt, and enjoy a boat trip across an underground salt lake. The mine also features two slides, up to 40 meters long, and a salt experience trail with life-size miner figures and mining machines. The temperature inside the mine is a constant 12 degrees Celsius, so warm clothing is recommended. The mine is suitable for visitors of all ages, and overalls are provided to protect clothing. Photography is not allowed inside the mine, but there are designated photo stops outside with miner figures and mining machines
