Titisee is a lake in the southern Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It covers an area of 1.07 km2 and is an average of 20.5 m deep. The lake owes its formation to the Feldberg glacier, which carved out the landscape during the last ice age. The town of Titisee-Neustadt is located on the north shore of the lake and offers a promenade, souvenir shops, beer gardens, and restaurants. Visitors can take a boat tour or rent a boat to explore the lake. The surrounding area is also suitable for hiking, with a 7.4 km long trail that circles the lake and offers a wonderful view. The lake has a rich history, with the first records dating back to 1050. The name 'Titisee' is believed to have originated from the Roman general Titus or the Alemannic dialect word 'Teti', meaning 'little child' or 'baby'
