Tbilisi

Tbilisi is the capital and largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with around 1.2 million inhabitants. The city has a rich history, having been founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Tbilisi is known for its cultural and religious diversity, with a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. The city is home to many notable landmarks, including the Sameba and Sioni cathedrals, Freedom Square, Rustaveli Avenue, and the Narikala Fortress. Tbilisi is also a major cultural and educational center, with a university and several other institutions of higher education, as well as a principal industrial center with a range of industries including engineering, textiles, and food production
