What to expect

Old Tbilisi is the historical part of the city of Tbilisi, including districts and settlements that were once called 'Tiflis'. The area is a main center of tourist attraction, with many sights, sulfur baths, churches, museums, and restaurants. The district is distinguished by its old street vendors, wooden carved houses, and balconies. Old Tbilisi has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate since 2007. The city has a rich history, with the first settlement dating back to the 4th century, and it was an important trading hub in the past. Visitors can explore the Kala, an ancient city situated on the right bank, surrounded by a fortress wall of Narikala, and home to a royal residence, palaces, churches, and baths. The area also features a mix of architectural styles, including eclectic 19th-century buildings, and is home to many art galleries, bars, restaurants, and nightclubs
