What to expect

Vallouise-Pelvoux is a commune in the department of Hautes-Alpes, southeastern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2017 by merger of the former communes of Pelvoux and Vallouise. It is located in the Alps and contains part of the Écrins National Park. The commune is a popular destination for mountaineering and mountain sports in all seasons. The station de sports d'hiver de Pelvoux-Vallouise is a family-friendly ski resort with 30 kilometers of pistes. The village has a rich history, including a significant Vaudois presence, and features several historic buildings, such as the 15th- and 16th-century église Saint-Etienne and the 17th-century chapelle Saint-André-et-Sainte-Lucie. The village also hosts various festivals and events throughout the year, including the Festival des Contes, the Marché Potier, and the Festival des Arts de Rue
