The Musée de la Préhistoire is a museum located in Quinson, in the heart of the Verdon, showcasing the results of archaeological digs carried out in the Verdon for over 50 years. The museum presents the adventure of the first men in Provence for a million years, with a permanent exhibition that alternates scenes of prehistoric life, archaeological objects from Haute-Provence and Verdon, and multimedia media. Visitors can see a mammoth, a woolly rhino, a reindeer, a megaceros, and a saber-toothed tiger at the entrance of the museum. The museum also features a reconstructed prehistoric village, with four distinct historical periods, including a stone circle, a Terra Amata hut, a teepee, and a dry-stone hut. The village is open to visitors and offers a unique insight into the lives of prehistoric people
