What to expect

The Tour des Cerces is a challenging hike located in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region of France, in the city of Névache. The hike is approximately 17.5 km long and features a cumulative elevation gain of 1100 meters. It passes through several cols and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including six lakes and three mountain passes. The hike can be completed in either direction, but it is recommended to start with the ascent to the Lac and Col des Béraudes, as this section is more manageable when climbing. The trail takes you through a variety of landscapes, including mountain meadows, rocky terrain, and forests. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to see several lakes, including the Lac des Béraudes, Lac des Cerces, and Lac Rond. The hike is considered difficult and is not suitable for families with young children or those who are not experienced hikers. It's essential to be prepared for the hike by bringing appropriate gear, including sturdy hiking boots, water, and snacks
