The nearby village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is a member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France and has a rich history, with a spring flowing out of the cliff and creating a waterfall in the town, providing water power. The village is also known for its pottery trade, especially faïence, and has a gold-painted star hanging on a chain suspended between two cliffs
