The Calanque de Sormiou is a unique natural formation located in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region of France, near the city of Marseille. It is one of the 26 calanques in the area, which are narrow inlets of the sea between tall cliffs. The calanque is accessible by a small, winding road that passes through the garrigue, a type of Mediterranean landscape characterized by low-growing vegetation and rocky outcrops. The road leads to a col, or mountain pass, which offers a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea. From there, a hiking trail leads down to the calanque, where visitors can swim in the turquoise waters and enjoy the scenic surroundings. The calanque is also home to a variety of flora and fauna, including poulpes, anémones, and other marine species. The area is protected as part of the Parc National des Calanques, which aims to preserve the natural beauty and biodiversity of the region
