What to expect
The Château de Villandraut is a ruined castle located in Villandraut, France. It was constructed between 1305 and 1312 by Bertrand de Goth, also known as Pope Clement V, as a residence during his stays in Guyenne. The castle is a symbol of the power of the de Got family and features a combination of defensive, residential, and representative functions. It has undergone various modifications and restorations over the centuries, including the destruction of the south tower in 1592. Today, the castle is owned by Norbert Fradin and is managed by the association Adichats, which offers guided tours and cultural events. Visitors can explore the castle and learn about its rich history, including its association with the Templars and the French Wars of Religion
