The Réserve Naturelle de l'Étang Noir is a nature reserve located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France, near the city of Seignosse. The reserve is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the European otter, the European catfish, and over 200 species of plants. Visitors can explore the reserve via a wooden walkway, which allows them to discover the site's unique landscape and wildlife. The reserve is also an important habitat for many species of birds, with over 112 species documented. The site offers a typical landscape of humid moors, with a pond and a marshy forest. The forest is home to alder and willow trees, as well as carex and osmondes royales. The reserve is managed by the Syndicat Mixte Gestion des milieux naturels and is classified as a Natura 2000 site

Activities: We visited the Réserve Naturelle de l’Étang Noir. The pond protects 52 hectares of wetlands, accessible via wooden walkways. We then access a swampy forest, stream, peat bog and the highlight of the show: a spectacular view of the black pond!
