What to expect
Rhune is a mountain in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of southwestern France, located near the village of Sare. It offers a 360° panorama from its summit at 905m altitude, with views of the Basque Piedmont hills, the peaks of the Pyrenees, the Basque Coast, and the Bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Visitors can reach the top by walking or taking the famous rack railway train. The area has various accommodations, including campsites like Campsite LA PETITE RHUNE, which offers plots, rentals, and amenities such as a heated swimming pool, paddling pool, and wifi. The village of Sare, one of the most beautiful villages in France, is nearby and offers traditional dishes like piperade. The region is also home to pottocks, ponies that live in the semi-wild, and various bird species. THE RHUNE TRAIN
Activities: We went to Rhune by a little train. We admired the splendid landscape. At the top, we enjoyed the view of the Basque coast and saw horses and sheep along the way. There is a small sheepfold, and places to eat
