The Pont du Diable is a natural limestone formation located on a peninsula in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, in the Charente-Maritime department of southwestern France. According to legend, a fisherman in distress during a violent storm was saved by the devil, who built a stone bridge for him to return to land. The site is now a popular spot for tourists and fishermen, with several wooden cabins, known as carrelets, built on the rock for fishing. The area offers a panoramic view of the sea and is close to several beaches, including the Platin beach and the Grande Côte. Visitors can enjoy walking along the Sentier des Douaniers, a pedestrian path that runs along the coast, and discover the villas and carrelets typical of the Atlantic coast. The site is also a great spot for water activities, such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and surfing
