The Paléosite of Saint-Césaire is an archaeological treasure that takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the prehistoric ages. The museum is located near the authentic prehistoric site of Roche à Pierrot, where a Neanderthal individual, 'Pierrette', was discovered in 1979. The site offers a self-guided tour and activities, as well as a guided tour, and an indoor and outdoor route that takes approximately 3 hours to complete. Visitors can learn how to light a fire by friction or percussion, learn rock art, or discover propellant shooting. The outdoor course extends over 10 hectares and features life-size reconstructions created for Jacques Malaterre's film 'Ao the Last Neanderthal'. The site also has a restaurant, La Broche à Pierrot, which offers local gastronomy and products. The Paléosite is a great place for families to visit, with activities and exhibits that are suitable for children
