Parc Naturel de la Leyre

The Parc Naturel de la Leyre is a protected area located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. It is part of the Landes de Gascogne natural region and features a diverse landscape of pine forests, wetlands, and oceanic coastline. The park is home to several small communes and has a total area of 3,153 km2. Visitors can explore the park's natural beauty through various activities such as canoeing or kayaking on the Leyre river, which offers a unique and intimate discovery of the fleuve côtier. The park also features a bird sanctuary on Arcachon Bay, where over 300,000 migratory birds take refuge in its wetlands each year.
