Domme is a commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. It is sometimes called the "Acropolis of the Périgord". The village is perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Dordogne river and has a trapezoid city plan, adapted to the surrounding terrain. Domme is a bastide, a fortified medieval town, and has two public spaces of medieval origin: the commercial Place de la Halle and the Place de La Rode. The village is famous for its fortifications, which were completed by 1310, and its beautiful views of the Dordogne river. Domme has been a member of the association Les Plus Beaux Villages de France since 2017
