La Cité de la Mer is a maritime museum and aquarium located in the former Gare Maritime Transatlantique in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, Normandy. The museum showcases the underwater world and sea exploration, with attractions such as the Abyssal Aquarium, the deepest in Europe, and Le Redoutable, a ballistic missile nuclear submarine that is open to the public. Visitors can explore the submarine and learn about its history, as well as discover the marine life in the aquarium. The museum also features exhibitions on the history of the Titanic, which made its last stop in Cherbourg before sinking.
