Noirmoutier-en-l'Île

Noirmoutier-en-l'Île is a commune located in the northern part of the island of Noirmoutier, just off the coast of the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France. The island is a seaside paradise for nature lovers due to its exceptional micro-climate, with salt-water marshes covering nearly a third of the island, beautiful sand dunes hugging the coastline, and a delicate scent of holly oaks and marine pine trees filling the air. The island offers a large number of water-based activities, including sailing, surfing, kitesurfing, and jet skiing, along its 40 km of fine sandy beaches. The town of Noirmoutier-en-l'Île is the historical capital of the island and consists of picturesque quarters, a few museums, and some interesting monuments, such as the Saint Philbert church and the old chateau. The island is also home to three harbors, including L'Herbaudière with its lively fishing port and pleasant marina
