The Grand-Lieu Ornithological Observatory is a nature reserve located in La Chevrolière, France. It is situated near the Lac de Grand-Lieu, the largest lowland lake in France and one of the biggest in Europe. The lake is a paradise for birds, with almost 300 varieties of birds, including several breeding species. The observatory offers a mobile observatory at Saint-Aignan-de-Grand-Lieu, where visitors can use binoculars and telescopes to observe the birds. The site also features an ecological trail, a belvedere, and a taxidermist's collection of local birds. The Lac de Grand-Lieu is a unique ecosystem with shallow depth and lush vegetation, making it a haven for flora and fauna. The lake is home to 270 bird species, 50 mammal species, 12 frog species, 30 fish species, and 550 plant species.
