Forêt d'Aizenay

The Forêt d'Aizenay is a forest located in the Loire Region of France, specifically in the city of Aizenay. It covers an area of 420 hectares and is classified as a Zone Naturelle d'Intérêt Écologique, Faunistique et Floristique (ZNIEFF), making it a significant space for biodiversity conservation. The forest features various landscapes, including ruisseaux, mares forestières, landes à bruyères, chênaies, and clairières humides, which provide habitats for different animal species. Some of the notable species found in the forest include the engoulevent d'Europe, Busard Saint-Martin, Faucon hobereau, and papillons like Morio and Mélitée du Mélampyre. The forest is also home to various tree species, such as chênes pédonculés, chênes sessiles, châtaigniers, charmes, hêtres, and trembles. The forest is accessible for family-friendly activities and is considered a great spot for balades familiales and sportives. Dogs are allowed in the forest, but they must be kept on a leash
