Saint-Hippolyte is a winegrowing community on the Wine Route in the Grand Est region of France. The village has a population of 1080 inhabitants and is situated at the foot of the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle. It is famous for its Pinot Noir, 'Rouge de Saint-Hippolyte', and offers various accommodations, including hotels, restaurants, bed-and-breakfast facilities, and furnished flats. The village has a 15th-and 16th-century Gothic church, remains of ramparts, and a 16th-century fountain. Many events take place in July and August, making it an ideal destination for tourists. The village is also surrounded by fertile vineyards and has a compact oblong area with half-timbered houses, a church, town hall, and a 19th-century school building
