What to expect

The Maison des Têtes is a historic building located in Colmar, France. It was constructed in 1609 for the merchant Anton Burger and is attributed to the architect Albrecht Schmidt. The building is a notable example of German Renaissance architecture and features a richly decorated facade with 106 grotesque masks or heads, from which it gets its name. The building has a three-story oriel and a pignon decorated with volutes and ailerons, surmounted by a bronze tonnelier statue created by Auguste Bartholdi in 1902. The Maison des Têtes has been restored and now houses a 5-star hotel, a gastronomic restaurant, and a brasserie. The hotel offers 21 fully equipped rooms, and the brasserie serves a blend of Alsatian products and modern cuisine. The building is a popular tourist destination and a significant part of Colmar's cultural heritage
