What to expect

The Stantari archaeological area is located in the commune of Sartène, in the region of Corsica, France. It features an alignment of monoliths, including statues-menhirs, dating back to the Middle Neolithic and Bronze Age. The location includes 55 monoliths, with some of the stones featuring sculpted faces. A hematite-impregnated bucket discovered indicates that the stones were originally painted red. The alignment is composed of three files of stones, with some standing and others recumbent. It is listed as a Historic Monument and is freely accessible
