What to expect

The gardens at Château de Villandry are a beautiful and unique destination, known for their stunning Renaissance gardens. The gardens cover 9 hectares and include a water garden, ornamental garden, large vegetable garden, and a sun garden, all laid out in formal patterns created with low box hedges. The gardens were created by Joachim Carvallo in the early 20th century and are an original creation blending tradition and innovation. The Château de Villandry itself has a rich history, dating back to the 16th century, and has been owned by several notable families, including the Le Breton family and the Marquis de Castellane
