The Forteresse royale de Chinon is a historic fortress located on the bank of the river Vienne in Chinon, France. It has a rich history dating back to the 10th century and has been a residence for several notable figures, including Henry II of England and Charles VII. The fortress features impressive military architecture, including the largest defence tower, known as the Échauguette Tower, and the Coudray Tower, which houses hidden treasures in the form of graffiti carved into the stone by the Templars. Visitors can explore the fortress and discover its secrets through interactive devices, videos, sound recordings, and multimedia stations. The fortress also offers an escape game and a children's map, 'En visite avec Bertille', making it a great place to visit with family. The bedchambers of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II Plantagenet and Charles VII's Private Room have been recreated, and the site is home to temporary exhibitions
