What to expect

The Château du Clos Lucé, formerly known as Manoir du Cloux, is a large château located in the center of Amboise, in the department of Indre-et-Loire, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. It is famous for being the last home of Leonardo da Vinci, who lived there from 1516 until his death in 1519. The château features a unique collection of Leonardo's inventions, a beautiful garden, and several rooms that showcase the history of the 16th century, including Leonardo's bedroom and the council chamber. The château also offers a museum space that provides insight into Leonardo da Vinci's work as a painter and architect. The place is suitable for families, with activities for children, such as handling models of Leonardo's inventions, and a special booklet for children aged 7 to 12.
