The forest has several trails, including bridlepaths and footpaths, and is home to several lakes and ponds, such as the étang de Maffrais and the étang de Saint Roux. The forest is also crossed by several roads and highways, including the A84 autoroute. The forest's topography is characterized by a relatively flat terrain with some gentle slopes, making it easily accessible for visitors. The forest is also home to several streams and rivers, including the ruisseau de Caleuvre and the ruisseau du Grand Bat
