Parc du Suzon - Jardin Japonais

Park Dijon, Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, France

What to expect

The Parc du Suzon, also known as the Jardin Japonais, is a public park in Dijon, France, that showcases a beautiful Japanese garden. The garden is dedicated to contemplation, meditation, and rest, and features a variety of Japanese symbols, such as a cascade that symbolizes the passing of time, two islands in the shape of a tortoise and a crane that represent earthly and celestial values, and conifers that are believed to be inhabited by divine beings. The garden also features a pagode, a passerelle, and a house of tea, as well as an area for children to play. The garden is a result of a collaboration between the city of Dijon and the Japanese city of Koshigaya, and is designed to harmonize the beauty of nature with the art of Japanese gardening

SUZON PARK JAPANESE GARDEN

SUZON PARK JAPANESE GARDEN
This family's experience:

Activities: We discovered a garden in Dijon. It's divided into several parts: a playground (not tested), an area for dogs (not tested), and a Japanese garden. The latter is organized around a body of water fed by a waterfall. There is a pagoda and a footbridge

Highlights: The kids, initially disinterested, wanted to go back. The small garden is beautiful and relaxing. The waterfall impressed our youngest. We observed the fish coming to the surface ✨
