What to expect

The Owl's Trail, also known as Le Parcours de la Chouette, is a walking tour in the historic town centre of Dijon. The trail features 22 steps and takes around one hour to complete, exploring the main heritage sites of the Burgundian capital. Families can follow the bronze arrows built into the pavestones throughout the protected area of the town, which feature the iconic Owl, the town mascot. The trail leads to various interesting buildings, including the church of Notre-Dame, the 15th-century Maison Millière, and the courtyard at the Hôtel Vogüe. The tour also passes through typical medieval streets, such as Rue Verrerie, and stops at the Square des Ducs, the Palace of the Dukes and Estates of Burgundy, and the Cathedral of St. Benignus. While there are no specific kid-friendly activities mentioned, the trail is a great way for families to explore the charm of Dijon together

This family's experience:

Activities: We followed the little bronze owls inlaid in the pavement to discover Dijon's main monuments. Our son James loved playing the explorer! We also remembered to stroke the owl of the Notre-Dame church with our left hand for good luck

Highlights: Our son James loved playing the explorer! "And for the superstitious, don't forget to stroke the owl of the Notre-Dame church with your left hand: it brings good luck…" ✨
