The Lac de Vouglans, also known as the Barrage de Vouglans, is a hydroelectric dam located in the Jura region of France. The dam is situated on the river Ain and has a height of 130 meters and a length of 427 meters. It creates a reservoir with a capacity of 605 million cubic meters of water, making it the third-largest artificial lake in France. The lake is approximately 35 kilometers long and offers opportunities for boating, bathing, and other water activities. The surrounding area has been developed for tourism, with viewpoints, beaches, and other amenities. The dam is an important source of renewable energy, producing 300 GWh of electricity per year
