What to expect

The Château d'Ancy-le-Franc is a Renaissance-style château located in the town of Ancy-le-Franc in the department of Yonne, in France. It is an amazing Renaissance palace on the lands of the Dukes of Burgundy, with one of the largest collections of Renaissance murals in France, making it a direct contender of the Fontainebleau chateau. The château is the masterpiece of the famous Italian architect Sebastiano Serlio and features a unique blend of French and Italian styles. The interior design is the work of Francesco Primaticcio, with murals from drawings of Primaticcio or Niccolò dell'Abbate. The château has a rectangular central plan, with four houses forming a square and each flanked by projecting pavilion walls, and features a beautiful courtyard and gardens. It is a great place to visit for families interested in history, architecture, and art
