What to expect
Vallorcine is a peaceful and authentic village in the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley, located near the Swiss border. The village has retained its natural character and offers a range of activities for visitors, including skiing, ice climbing, sledging, and hiking. The village is also home to several waterfalls, including the Barberine and Bérard waterfalls, and is accessible via the Col des Montets. Vallorcine has been connected to the Balme ski area by a gondola lift since 2004. The village has a rich history and culture, with traditional granaries called 'raccards' that are unique to the region. Visitors can also explore the Aiguilles Rouges National Nature Reserve and the Nature Reserve of Vallon de Bérard. The village is a great destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts, with plenty of opportunities for skiing, hiking, and exploring the beautiful natural surroundings

Our week of skiing in the Chamonix valley
Activities: We stayed in Vallorcine for a week of skiing over Christmas and New Year's. We were based in Vallorcine and skied there every morning
Highlights: We loved the quick and easy access to the slopes via the cable car. We especially enjoyed the views from the summit of Domaine de Balme, especially in the late afternoon and early morning ✨
