The Grotte Chauvet, a UNESCO World Heritage site, features exceptionally high-quality paintings dating back 36,000 years. The Grotte Chauvet 2 is a replica of the original cave, offering a unique experience in the heart of a 15-hectare park. The replica cave is a massive challenge, aiming to recreate a real cavity with its floors, walls, and vaults, hosting human and animal remains, as well as humanity's first masterpieces. The site includes five complementary parts: the Grotte Chauvet 2, The Aurignacian Gallery, the pedagogical centre, the temporary exhibition space, the events space, and the restaurant-shop. The architects designed a dispersed structure, with buildings integrated into the topography of the site, implanted low to the ground, as discreetly as possible
