The Basilica of Notre-Dame du Port is a Romanesque basilica located in the Port quarter of Clermont-Ferrand, France. It was built in the 12th century and features a Latin cross ground plan with a nave, two low side aisles, and a transept with semi-circular chapels. The basilica is known for its intricate stone carvings, including capitals depicting scenes from the Bible and the Psychomachia of Prudentius. The church has undergone several restorations, including a major restoration project in 2007-2008, and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France. The basilica is also home to a small Black Virgin statue in its crypt, adding to its spiritual significance and historical richness
