Lac Blanc is a mountain lake located in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France, in the city of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. The lake offers a panoramic view of the Mont-Blanc Massif and the Aiguilles Rouges. It is accessible via different hiking trails, including a two-hour hike from the La Flégère cable car for those with children or who are novice mountain walkers. For more athletic and experienced hikers, the lake can also be reached from the Col des Montets or Tré-le-Champ, but these routes are technical and not suitable for everyone. Swimming is prohibited in Lac Blanc and the nearby Chéserys Lakes to protect these fragile high-altitude environments. The area is home to a variety of flora and fauna, and visitors are encouraged to respect the natural surroundings and follow responsible hiking practices
