The Tampere Central Library, also known as Metso, is a unique and renowned building in the heart of Tampere, Finland. Designed by architects Reima and Raili Pietilä, the library represents organic architecture and resembles a courting wood grouse from above. The building has three floors, with facilities including a lending collection, reference section, children's and young adults' sections, newspaper reading room, music section, performance stage, meeting and project work spaces, public computer terminals, and a cafeteria. The library also offers digital support and equipment for patrons. The main library Metso was renovated in 2015-2017 to meet modern requirements while preserving its original appearance. It has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists, and its architecture is considered a complete work of art
