Hakametsä is a legendary ice stadium area in Tampere, Finland, that is being renewed and expanded into a unique sport campus. The area will feature a multipurpose arena, sport and exercise services, business and operating premises, housing, and outdoor and green areas. The ice stadium itself has a rich history, having hosted numerous ice hockey championships and tournaments, including the 1982, 1991, 1997, and 2003 men's world championship tournaments and the 1992 women's world championship tournament. The stadium has a capacity of 7,300 spectators and is equipped with modern facilities, including a video screen cube and suites. The new sport campus will provide a world-class setting for elite athletes and amateurs, as well as for the activities of organizations and businesses
