Lahetaguse is a village in Saaremaa Parish, Saare County, Estonia, located on the northern coast of Kaugatoma Bay. The village is the birthplace of Russian navigator and explorer Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen, who discovered Antarctica. Lahetaguse Manor, also known as Lahhentagge in German, was established in 1571, but none of its buildings have survived. The village has a population of 21 and is situated near other manors and natural attractions, such as Pilguse Manor and Vilsandi National Park

Activities: We visited the birthplace of Fabian von Bellingshausen. We sat in a small cafe located in a side building of the manor. The main house was closed. We had some coffee and enjoyed the place
Highlights: Sitting on the terrace and looking out at the trees that Bellingshausen may have played under was enjoyable. It was a beautiful spot to be, even though it wasn't particularly interesting in a conventional sense ✨
