Harilaid is a peninsula with an elongated shape and an undulated shoreline in the northern part of Vilsandi National Park. It is covered with pine forest and features a lake, the Laialepa Bay, which was formed from an old gulf. The peninsula is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including rare plant species such as sea holly, sand couch-grass, and marsh pennywort. It is also a stopover area for migrant birds and a winter hibernation spot for the globally endangered Steller's eider. The Kiipsaare lighthouse, built in 1933, is located on the peninsula and offers a unique spot for resting and feeding for seagulls and terns. The peninsula's open landscape and sandy coasts make it an ideal place for families to explore and enjoy nature

Activities: We went on a hike over Harilaid. We walked around the entire peninsula, a hike of about twelve kilometers. We had a picnic at the lighthouse and found some interesting things along the beach. We rationed the snacks because the walk was long
Highlights: We enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the wild flowers. The kids liked discovering the half of an animal on the beach, and the lighthouse. "How wonderful, how wonderful!" ✨
