Historical site El Haram, Giza, Egypt

What to expect

The Giza Necropolis, also known as the Giza pyramid complex, is a site in Egypt that is home to the Great Pyramid, the pyramid of Khafre, and the pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx. The site is located on the west bank of the Nile River in northern Egypt and is one of the largest buildings ever constructed. The Great Pyramid is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids, and it is a masterpiece of technical skill and engineering ability. The pyramid's core is made of yellowish limestone blocks, and the inner passages are of finer light-colored limestone. The interior burial chamber is built of huge blocks of granite. The site also includes several temples, cemeteries, and the remains of a workers' village. Visitors can explore the pyramids and the surrounding area, which offers a glimpse into ancient Egyptian history and culture

This family's experience:

Activities: We went to see the Pyramids of Giza, including Kheops, Kephren, Mikerinos, and the Sphinx. We considered walking around, but decided to hire a driver to take us around the site. We also considered, but did not enter, the pyramids themselves

Highlights: Seeing the pyramids was truly impressive and a must-do. We were fascinated by the dimensions and technical achievement of the construction. The view from the point where the three pyramids are aligned was also amazing ✨
